THE WEEKLY EDIT - Week 32
THE WEEKLY EDIT · August 2 // this week feels like it's the moment to pull out your best outfit rather you are planning to go to Fashion Week event or Not !!
Copenhagen turns into a runway for one week a year.
After a few weeks where Copenhagen life had slowed down, where the streets were calmer and emptier compared to the craziness of June, Copenhagen starts to buzz again, and it’s kicking off with one pretty crazy week for the capital: Copenhagen Fashion Week!
You might not be into fashion that much, but it’s definitely THE week to be out for people watching. And if you already think people are handsome in this city, you are not ready for the crowd that will occupy the streets next week.
No need for an invite to appreciate the ambiance of fashion week though. I’ve actually found you a few events where you don’t need a thousand followers, or any invite at all, to go..

MEMBERS ONLY
Just discovered this collectif thanks to a random conversation with a stranger. Every month they organize fun community gatherings with an extended line up of DJs in a little hidden spot in Nordhavn. To enter you need to be a member, but the membership starts at 25 kr per month.
THE GARAGE SCOOP
Every good business story starts in a garage, why not ice cream. We love a place that looks so artisanal it could be your friend who just decided to sell cake from her kitchen, and garage_is_og_kaffe definitely gives this vibe.
DINNER AT THE FARM
Have you ever been to Øens Have, the urban farm next to Reffen? They regularly organize community long tables, the next one being the 9th of August. Expect a wine bar from noon, a lit bonfire to make pancakes on (20 kr), a free plant safari, and fresh produce and plants to take home. If you miss real fresh organic vegetables, as a member of their community you’ll be allowed to come and pick up what you’d like between June and November.
Date: next long table on 9 August
PLUS : For fresh produce, I can also recommend Christianshavn Grocer.
DANISH PRODUCE, JAPANESE ACCENT
I love all the addresses of Ark Collection, the king of proving that plant based can be sexy, creative, gastronomic. So of course I’m super excited for the new addition to the maison: Kiko Izakaya. Danish produce, Japanese inspired, say no more. In Torvehallerne.
Another stand I’d check out if I pass by Torvehallerne is Mochitime Cph, especially their fresh mango mochi. I’ve been craving real fresh fruit since the one from the supermarket has absolutely no taste.
OPENING SOON
- Casita. No link to Bad Bunny, sorry, but they’ll do bar, deli, coffee, and the spot looks adorable.
- Solene, by Donda Group, is opening the 8th of August and will celebrate between 3 and 6pm with beer and snacks on the house, to discover the new venue in Østerbro.
Date: 8 August · Time: 15:00 to 18:00 · Location: Østerbro Handle not confirmed, check Solene’s page before publishing
HOW TO NEVER PAY FULL PRICE
If you don’t want to pay full price at a restaurant, I’d advise checking this post from Copenhagen.favorites. I’ve already tried and loved Earlybird to get last minute tables at half price.
ON MY CRAVING LIST
- a blue cheese martini. I know it’s going to divide, but I tried a really fun cheese cocktail in Hamburg at the beginning of the year, so I could get tempted.
- This really Danish summer dessert at Bottega Barlie: a rød grød med fløde.
- This graphic rhubarb dessert from Fiskbaren
- Those Lobster croquette with sushi rice, corn, and cheese.
- The baguette sandwiches filled with dijionaise spread, creamy gammel knas cheese, and slices of Italian prosciutto cotto at Andersan & Maillard
- A Mirabelles tart with fig leaf frangipane, and fig leaves at Rondo
