THE WEEKLY EDIT - Week 3
THE WEEKLY EDIT · January 11 // This week calls for cheese boards and daytime dancing. Here’s the plan.
Back to routine, but gently.
This week feels… soft.
We’re getting back into some kind of routine after the holiday season — but let’s be honest, it’s a strange moment.
Christmas is over, New Year’s Eve probably stole a few hours of sleep, you’re likely half Christmas cake, half champagne at this point, and your social battery might still be running on low after family time.
The days are short. It’s cold. Spring feels far away.
So instead of jumping straight into strict, hard resolutions, I’m choosing something else this year:
building a bucket list of exciting things to look forward to, mixed with small, cosy plans that gently push you out of the house — without pressure.
No overload. Just the right choices.
The kind that give you energy and make you feel quietly proud for having done something.
That’s the spirit for this first week.

The Curated plan of the week
This week’s plan to get out of your routine: a cheese board night
Staying in doesn’t mean doing nothing.
Sometimes, the best way to keep your social life alive in winter is to bring people to you.
So here’s the plan — simple, low effort, high reward:
Plan a cheese board night.
As a French person, this might be my favourite plan of all time.
A good cheese board is a social plan:
you invite people,
you open a bottle,
you stay longer than planned,
there’s no cooking, no reservations, no stress.
Just a board, a knife, and good company.
That’s it.
How to make it a success (without overthinking)
1. Build variety, not volume
Aim for 4–5 cheeses, all different:
one hard cheese,
one creamy,
one fresh goat for those scared of strong cheese,
one softer washed rind,
one blue (for the brave ones),
2. Where to buy good cheese in Copenhagen
These are my go-tos:
Ma Poule — when I need my French fix
La Fromagerie — classics done right
Helge Ost — an underrated gem
Supermarco — for Italian cheese cravings 🇮🇹
Don’t hesitate to ask for recommendations — that’s half the joy of small shops.
3. Plate it nicely (it matters)
Not for Instagram — for the pleasure of hosting.
Cut the cheese, play with shapes, add grapes, crackers, maybe a fig or onion jam.
If you want inspiration, look at Tableau Paris — learn from the best.
4. Wine pairing, made easy
No need to be an expert:
soft & creamy cheeses → white wine or light red
hard cheeses → medium-bodied red
blue cheese → sweet or fortified wine (trust me)
Good wine shops to keep in mind:
Juul’s Vin & Spiritus
Khiosk
Vintro
Budo
5. Don’t forget the bread
French mood? Baguette from Ma Poule.
Danish vibe? Sourdough always wins.
Great bakeries for bread:
Sinne Bakery
Rondo
Skipper Bakery
Albatros og Venner
6. A quick French rule (important)
If the cheese is triangular, never cut only the point.
Everyone deserves a fair share of the good part.
7. Invite the right number of people
Enough to keep conversation flowing — not too many to lose intimacy.
Hosting in winter is a quiet superpower. Use it.
The One thing to not miss out
If you’re craving a bit of social energy — and you’d like to prolong the New Year’s feeling without the hangover — this is the plan.
Coffee & Croissant Sober Rave at Cadence
Yes, that thing you’ve probably seen all over social media.
Bakery raves. Coffee-powered dance floors. Daytime joy.
And yes — it’s finally happening in Copenhagen.
Wholesome CPH is partnering with Cadence for a mid-afternoon rave where:
coffee is the fuel,
dancing is encouraged,
phones are put away,
and no one feels weird about not drinking alcohol (hello, Dry January).
It’s the perfect in-between plan: festive, social, energising — and you’ll still feel human the next day.
Why now:
Early January is exactly when you want something joyful without committing to a late night.
Who it’s for:
Anyone who wants to see people, move a bit, and feel part of something — without the clubbing hangover.
Practical info:
🗓 Saturday 17th, 13:30–16:00
📍 Cadence, Carlsberg Byen
🎶 DJ set by NULA CPH
💸 Free, open invite — just show up
If you do only one thing this week, make it this.
The weekly list for thoses really hungries
A plan I almost wanted to keep to myself
On February 1st, Tipster is organising the Fastelavn Bun Run 2026.
More bakeries. More runners. More buns.
The pastry-fuelled half marathon you’ve been waiting for is back — and bigger than ever.
Two half-marathon routes, 10 bakeries each, celebrating fastelavnsboller, semlor and creative takes on the classics worth breaking a sweat for.
How it works:
300 runners selected via lottery
Participation is free
Spots are raffled in pairs (bring a worthy partner)
Routes are assigned randomly
Sign-ups are open: tipster.io/fastelavn
For the social night owls
Dear World Copenhagen - A group of international cool kids hosting after-work events designed to break the ice and meet new people. Their first event of the year is on January 14th.
The day before, January 13th, they’re also organising a chill run starting from 25hours Hotel Paper Island (Papiroen).
A dinner to set-up the year
She Serves is hosting a 3-course dinner around warmth and reflection — a nice way to start the year with a full belly and a clear mind.

City Crumbs
Hot Openings
Kani
After documenting her entrepreneurial journey for weeks, Aryan has finally opened the place of her dreams.
Cute bunny on the façade, warm burgundy tones, candles — the place is a vibe.
Pastry-wise, I try not to be too opinionated during soft openings (a lot can happen in the kitchen).
I wasn’t fully convinced by the walnut frangipane & quince pastry — the dough wasn’t flaky enough and the frangipane a bit shy — but I’ll definitely go back to try something else.
180 Gradi
If you need a break from Danish buns and have Italian cravings: serious panettone and cantuccini just landed.
Dosa Bar
A new South Indian & Mumbai street food spot just opened.
With not many great Indian restaurants in town, I’m curious to see how this one levels up.
Magnolia SMK
The café inside SMK Museum has been completely taken over and rebranded.
I used to love the pancakes there — very curious to see what the new menu has to offer.
On my personal to-do list
Fanico (Nordhavn) — Portuguese eatery
The open churros sandwich (swirled churro dough, cinnamon sugar, mezcal vanilla parfait & mezcal negroni cream) from Sanchez Vesterbro
The semla from Juno the Bakery
Pistachio fastelavnsboller from Riviera
(I’ll do a full Fastelavn edition later in the season.)
Comfort food collaborations
Seks × Abrikos Monthly sandwich collab — and this one sounds like a hit: egg salad with Asian sesame mayo, Thai basil, spiced carrot pickles, garlic & chilli oil, cucumber, spring onion and coriander.
A dinner worth planning ahead
I talked earlier about the new dinner experience at Sixteen Twelve, and I finally got to try it — no disappointment.
Flavours were spot on for both the vegetarian and regular menus.
Comforting, indulgent Aussie food elevated with Japanese flavours and spices.
Special shout-out to:
The chilli oil tapioca bread and grated halloumi served with some homemade smoked butter and the beef sweetbreads with a crunchy coat.
If you go, get a glass of saffron kombucha from Damo nice and fine bubble and subtle flower and honey taste. Menu is set until spring.
Odd Balance
The matcha brand that takes matcha out of the “pilates clean girl” cliché is launching a new product this Monday.
Cocoa, caramel, nutty notes, light brown colour… my guess? Hojicha powder.
Another chocolate alternative
Spora & Noma Projects Both are exploring alternatives to chocolate — Spora launched theirs end of 2025, and Noma Projects just released a video about a koji-based version.
Not available for sale yet, but definitely one to watch.
The Concierge
Starting next Sunday, I’m opening something new inside the newsletter.
Think of it as your own personal concierge service, not a hotline.
Each week, you can send me a real-life situation you’re trying to plan in Copenhagen:
a birthday dinner for 30 people, a low-key date with cool non alcoholic option, a place to celebrate without noise, a plan that works with kids… be as specific as you want
I’ll choose one request, break it down, and answer it publicly in the newsletter —
so everyone benefits from the thinking.
Just tell me what you’re looking for, and I’ll do the filtering.
📩 Send your request by reply or DM before next Sunday.

Ok I absolutely need to do the Fastelavn run in 2027, I have never heard of such a concept and I am OBSESSED.
