THE WEEKLY EDIT · June 22nd // Full summer mood ,sun is out, so is everyone, and Copenhagen is throwing the best party of the year (several of them, actually).
Full summer mood — sun is out, so is everyone.
And all you want to do is be outside, dancing.
But where ?
Because if there’s one thing Copenhagen does better than anywhere else — it’s throwing all-day parties, everywhere, all summer long.
You just need to know where to look.

🎉 IT’S FESTIVAL SEASON !!
And of course the one not to miss is Roskilde (27 June–4 July · (30 min from CPH) pretty accessible from Copenhagen, biggest line-up in Denmark, mix of different genres and a vibe unmatched. It’s the moment to release all the tension and get a bit wild.
But if you want to party this summer, there are plenty of occasions :
- Bølgen — All summer · Kalvebod Bølg & Amager Strandpark
Free DJs by the water, all summer long. Everyone swims. Everyone talks to everyone. No ticket needed just show up when the sun is out.
- Syd for Solen — 13–15 August · Valbyparken
Three days, local energy, good lineup. The one the Copenhageners keep to themselves.
- Karrusel — 27–29 August · Refshaleøen
If you liked - or miss Distortion - you’ll want to secure your ticket to Karrusel already !! Three days of electronic music, a real carousel, fairy-tale decor and somehow it all makes sense. My favorite of the season.
Not always a fan of the vibe of Gravity events it doesn’t always match the crowd and fun atmosphere of an electro party. But I cannot miss their next event that will be thrown at Amager Strandpark with Kölsch !! July 11th
O Days — July 30 to August 1- is also making the best of this middle-summer atmosphere, still long days, warm temperatures, the waterfront as the venue. Meetup is settled in front of the waterfront for 3 days of dancing
No necessarily my type of music but too big not to mention !! Copenhell, Metal festival, will be June 24th to 27th. It’s fully sold out but maybe there are still people reselling their tickets.
And on the other side, if you are more into Jazz than anything else there is a big programme in a lot of different places from July 3rd to the 12th during the Copenhagen Jazz Festival.
The mojo of the moment is being out just enjoying life !! Pirlo, Vin Far Deli and Fabrikkenstrandlodsvej are turning the street into a huge summer party from the 13th to the 25th of July, pass by the neighbourhood.

Kind Design is reuniting creatives with Real Talk - interesting meets. The next one in Copenhagen is July 1st at Bernies, the cute cowork space !!

🔥 THE NIGHT COPENHAGEN LIGHTS UP — SANKT HANS
The 23rd of June is Sankt Hans (Midsummer’s Eve) and Copenhagen lights up one of the longest days of the year with huge bonfires across the city !!
The old tradition is a bit darker — we are talking about burning witches — but now it’s mainly dancing around the fire and celebrating.
The spots with bonfires :
🔥 Ofelia Plads — Floating bonfire in the harbour, free concert from 20:00, official speech at 21:00, bonfire lit at 21:15.
🔥 Islands Brygge — Circus performances, local live music, and waterfront bonfire from 17:00–23:00.
🔥 Frederiksberg Have — Family activities from 16:00 and one of Copenhagen’s largest traditional bonfires at dusk. Lounge music from 19:30, mayor’s speech at 20:30, big bonfire lit at 21:40.
🔥 Reffen — Free entry from 15:00, DJs from 18:30 until 23:00, bonfire by the water at 21:45. Long-table dinner at 17:30 for 166 DKK (advance booking required).
🔥 Enghaveparken — Children’s bonfire at 18:15, main bonfire at 21:15, free live music.
🔥 Blågårds Plads — Neighbourhood celebration with concerts, DJs, and communal bonfire at 20:00.
🔥 Tivoli — Bonfire on the lake lit at 21:30 by the archer Lars Andersen with flaming arrows. Included with entry ticket.
🔥 Nyhavn — Live music from 19:30, bonfire and midsummer carol around 22:00. The side opposite the bars has the better view.
Some places are also celebrating Sankt Hans in their own way — The Artisan is doing happy hour on the 23rd.
City Crumbs
Fresh New Topi (Islands Brygge)
Topi is a success !! And like 3 months after opening their first location, they already opened their second spot at Islands Brygge yesterday, a little bit closer to mine, and much more dangerous.
In the openings to come :
Lilac - that’s going to rock the food scene of Papirøen soon !!
Matcha MORI is coming to Carlsberg Byen.
Le Filou - From the team behind denlillefranske_frb Le Filou promises : Riviera kitchen, Natural wine & Café culture. They’ll open in August !!
Unpopular opinion about Tipster
You probably know Tipster !! They launch drops of coupons for restaurants and you get to eat for half the price at some really cool spots in the city.
I don’t fully know what I think of all those initiatives of discounting restaurants !! Yes, restaurants in Copenhagen are crazy expensive. Yes, it’s a way for people to discover new places and for the place to fill out their tables… but restauration isn’t the business with the biggest margins — so does this type of concept truly serve the place, or the platform, on behalf of restaurants that desperately need to acquire new customers ? And does a Tipster customer really become a regular of the place they test, or are they mostly just a regular of Tipster, following the flow of the drop and never returning without a Tipster ticket… I think there is a lot of material to debate, and mechanics to improve to benefit both customer and restaurant.
