THE WEEKLY EDIT - Week 24
THE WEEKLY EDIT · May 31th // The sun is out, the streets are loud, and the whole city is about to become a dancefloor, here is everything worth knowing this week.
How to kick off summer?
Probably by staying outside late, enjoying every time the sun makes an apparition, partying with your friends and strangers, having a crawl in your neighbourhood or a little further to discover, dancing on plenty of genres of music, getting involved in the community ; having a shot of art, culture and design, always with a glass in your hand. Laughing, drinking, eating and getting the least amount of sleep you could possibly get.
Not the healthiest.. but you need to soak this summer energy before it gets cold and dark again.
And the programme of next week is just perfect for all of that with Distortion as the headline.
Bisous

PS : I'‘ve started a referral program if you like Copenhagen Filtered and want to share it (You’ll get some goodies if you reach a number of friends you shared it with 🙈)
The weekly list for thoses really hungries
Distortion Week
Potentially the best week of the Season ? If it truly used to be a free-for-all festival everywhere — things got a bit out of control and it’s now much more regulated. But you just need to know where to go, and there are plenty of side quests alongside the music and the party vibe.
Start at Kongens Nytorv on the 3rd for the Opening Ceremony and a Live Mixtape - free and open to the public. On Thursday, head to the Free Street Party in Vesterbro, walk the neighbourhood, let the music pull you from one block to another, every atmosphere, every genre. On Friday, the party moves around the Reffen area : warm up with the free street party then come serious business: this is the main stage, 10+ hours of music, 50 artists, and a maze in the forest to get lost and dance until sunrise. Frday and Saturday !! And if you’re still standing, the after-party runs Sunday from 6am to 6pm.
My favourite side quest? The long table dinner organized around resident chefs who are flown to Copenhagen for the occasion / themed around Marseille, Turkey, South Africa or Mexican flavours. More than 500 metres of community dinner with the best musical background served by Distortion.
And every evening this week, the nightlife carries on at: Culture Box (Kronprinsessegade 54), Den Anden Side (Axeltorv 5), H9 (Halmtorvet 9A), Hive (Skindergade 45), Jolene (Flæsketorvet 81), Klub Wekstatt (Refshalevej 167A), Module (Vesterbrogade 2B), Pumpehuset (Studiestræde 52), Søpavillionen (Gyldenløvesgade 24)

Making the City Live
A few things happening around the neighbourhoods this week — if you want to get more involved in making Copenhagen breathe. There’s a whole afternoon along the Harbour and waterfront with three events and stages the 2nd of June from 14h to 19h at Nordre Toldbod 7. I’ve also already talked about the Curious Neighbourhood initiative in Nordvest on the 9th. And if you’re in Sydhavn (like me!), the SV Festival is close to home.
City Crumbs
Cycling outside of the city
If you’re into cycling, Pontes Coffee is hosting new Bikes & Coffee event, check their instagram.
I’ve already talked about Field trips road cycling club but if you are looking for other cycling club to join, check out also Rapha - they are regularly throwing ride days you can join @rapha_copenhagen.
Pas Normal Studio in Nordhavn is worth knowing too, and they always share the ride length in advance so you can pick your level @icc__copenhagen.
And if you don’t have a bike I’ve got advise to go to Cafe Parforce in Klampenborg to rent one and then to take a long ride along the coast. And they also have they social ride.
Fresh openings to watch
Ismageriet is opening a new location in Østerbro, not far from Poul Henningsens Plads.
And if you are more froyo than ice cream.. Topi is already opening a second place. Great, because the queue on sunny days was getting out of hand. Looks like it will be near Islands Brygge.
New bar alert: Bygul - Cosy atmosphere and quality drinks. Worth a visit.
Stars are dropping
The Michelin Guide Nordic ceremony is happening on the 1st of June at Tivoli. Not open to the public, but the new stars get announced that night. Expect the Copenhagen restaurant world to be electric by Monday morning.

Love this article! Any recommendations for a nice lunch place that is not the typical ones - can not go to Artelier September or Apotek always ?
