THE WEEKLY EDIT - Week 10
THE WEEKLY EDIT · March 2nd // This week is an expresso edit of what's happening in the city soon - short but concentrated.
Are we finally done with winter,
the snow storm, the crazy cold days and the dark at 4pm… to feel a bit of spring?
The days are definitely getting longer and we gain some precious degrees. We are not there yet but it definitely gives me some more energy to be out and explore the city, so I hope you too. And for that, I have some really cool plans.
Bisous
Alice
I’ve opened a community chat here in Substack - So If you’ve discovered a place I should know about, if you’re looking for something very specific, or if you have ideas for future editions, I’d genuinely love to hear from you there and making this a real exchange rather than just a weekly drop in your inbox.

Draw me like one of your statues
For the hidden artist, Glyptoteket organizes a sketching session on Saturday March 7.
Meeting at 13:30 in the Wintergarden, then drawing for a few hours surrounded by great architecture, a lovely palm tree garden and hundreds of ancient statues.
At 16:00 everyone meets again in Café Picnic next to the Wintergarden to look at the drawings.
And it’s also a super good reason to try their little café which has the best view on the palm tree garden.

Five years of Even Founders
On March 5 it’s the birthday of Even Founders, a club for entrepreneurs and the startup ecosystem.
They are turning 5 and inviting everyone to celebrate;
Grab a drink, hear an interesting panel, check out the new office and just vibe with them.

Vintage treasure mode
Copenhagen can easily transform into a treasure hunt of second hand furniture and stunning antiques.
If you don’t want to wander the streets, there is a B&W Market in Refshaleøen on March 7–8 and 21–22, full of surprises.
Sometimes the best interior upgrade starts with a random Saturday stroll.

City Crumbs
Feast mode activated
From March 16, Levantin will serve a real feast.
For 295 DKK you’ll get to choose a main and will be served all the sides à la carte.
Let’s be honest, sharing all the sides is sometimes the best part of dinner.
Craving right now
- The blueberry frangipane tart from Kani.
- The rhubarb almond cake from Andersan & Maillard (only in Nordhavn)
- The rosebrød of Kobenhavns Bageri : laminated croissant dough, almond remonce and homemade rose syrup.
Rich, slightly tangy, and exactly what I want with my coffee right now.
Lakeside breakfast era
New coffee-brunch in town — welcome to Sol og Luna, member of the Madklubben family, who has opened just next to the lake and seems to have a lot of breakfast potential.
Especially with this oat porridge served with pistachio butter, blueberries and house made granola.
Atelier September — New neighborhood
Not opened yet but you can already feel the excitement. Atelier September is opening a new spot in a completely different neighborhood.
Welcome to Frederiksberg Atelier September — cannot wait to see what the place is going to look like and how the vibe will translate outside the city center.
Pantry meets lunch break
Recently opened: &Deli which sells grocery fine and serves daily meals and sandwiches.
One of those hybrid spots where you go for a quick lunch and leave with something you didn’t know you needed for dinner.
Dinner, but make it secret
Louche, a mysterious dinner place which simply states on its profile: Only by invite.
No menu, no details, just intrigue.
Lélé — Closing
There are unfortunately also some closings like Lélé which has lately organized a huge furniture sale to empty all their mobiliers.
A reminder that behind every address we love there is also a fragile balance.
Ramandan Cake
LaCabra has a full selection of treats to celebrate ramadan from pistachio pain suisse, rose pistachio tart, sea salt pecan date and halwa moon danish..
Matcha everywhere, always
Odd Balance continues its mission of popping some excuse to have matcha all over Copenhagen.
New spot unlocked: Café Sando with a filthy matcha madeleine.
As if we needed another reason.
Goodbye winter monotony
Let’s forget about the boring rotation of vegetables available during winter time and hop on to the market days organized by Villette.
They announced all the next dates so come as a visitor or contact them as a producer. A good way to reconnect with the rhythm of real seasonality.
Chocolate, but rethink it
Is Copenhagen the city of alternative chocolate?
While the étagère of Alma has been refilled with Notch — the substitute to chocolate developed by Spora — Esse was releasing a video about their version of something that looks like chocolate, tastes like chocolate but is not chocolate: THIC, product of Endless Food Co.
It’s a delicious alternative chocolate made from upcycled ingredients like brewer’s spent grain and cacao shells. It’s mainly sold directly to professionals and the food industry so you may already have had it without knowing.
The cool pantry club
If you ever binge watch videos about Erewhon, Whole Foods or Trader Joe’s you know that we miss something like that in Copenhagen — a pantry for the cool and healthy girly.
Here comes Arakai that seems to have the same kind of hipster products. We criticize but we do love to have some unnecessary shopping there.
Like their “Breakfast Clusters”: gluten-free oats, pumpkin seeds, sunflower seeds, peanut butter, tahini, chocolate, miso, honey, sesame, raisins, cranberries. Delivering fiber, magnesium, zinc and healthy fats to keep you full and focused.
Spice on my mind
In my current Restaurant bucket list :
- The Mexican restaurant El Goldie — the taste and spice of Mexico, the care of Denmark. I want to get my hands and fork on their ELOTES — corn ribs brushed with cauliflower purée, topped with cheese, chipotle and epazote.
- Mønsdrup Café and their hand-peeled shrimps on sourdough toast.
- And I just discovered this panzarote pop-up and can’t wait for the next one.
- I’ve talked about the sandwich of Bocca last edition but just discovered they also have a café !!
